The Baby is now a Reality

This is my entry to Techie She’s Lucky Blogger Weekly Giveaways Week 18. This week’s prize is $10 paypal credits from WAHWM of Work at Home Wife and Mother.

It’s been five (5) days since my last post and the quietness here won’t go awry any further. The crossing fingers are finished and that I have on hand what I am longing for in a long time. So it is now official that this blog has achieved its one goal that the baby is now a reality.

Do you know what I’m talking about? I’m sure not, so let’s get going.

Photography is not new to me and I love taking shots despite the dilapidated PowerShot S400 PNS I got in a good prize for you my friend. It’s not that it was broken or had issues, it’s just SLR was way high in my priorities at that time and way expensive too (that was 7 years ago). But I am not getting closer or near becoming an expert in photography either, I am just enjoying it when I was able to earn sixth place from more than hundred entries in an online photo contest. And the photo below was my entry using the PowerShot S400 PNS. What you think of my shot?

Mitigating Life's Uncertainties - Travel PhotologAnd then, when I have the means to get a DSLR, other family priority has to be taken of first and keep that on hold for another time once again. But yesterday was the reality coming so fast in front of my face that I have to decide which one to take home. I was actually like turn between two lovers in choosing what DSLR I should have. It’s like forever when trying to make a decision and I mean the appropriate decision for this could be for a long while investment.

So in the end, I made my choice and welcome home… 600D. I well introduce you later to her in a separate post. Thanks to my wife for making it a reality. And as of the moment, I am exploring it one at a time. I will show you then a sample.

Northern Cebu – First Road Trip After 2 Years

Travelling is exciting and full of adventure more so when it is your first time in that place. Whether it is by land, sea or air there’s always inconvenience along the way and careful planning could mean the difference between disaster and tragedy less trip. It is always a headache when it comes to making plans but it is not that difficult as well because there are plenty of guides that you’ll find in the internet.

When I had my recent vacation last July, I went to my father’s place and travel by air for almost 10 hours. You can already imagine the inconvenience sitting on long haul flight in a cramped economy seat especially that I have long legs were movements are very limited. Not to mention the high health risk of developing Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). But you know what, one time I had a superb experience sitting in the first class. Or should I say lying down? But that will be in a separate post so I can chronicle what happened that day.

mitigating life's circumstances - wiggy'sAnyway going back to that trip, on the next morning we took the road up north to the tip of Cebu with my father on the steering wheel. I usually don’t drive on the first few days upon arrival because I want to observe and note the changes (if there is) in road signs and directions. The trip was smooth since we left at 7 in the morning. Then after awhile I spotted a very familiar name on the billboard at the roadside. Refer in the photo to the right.

And for active Adgitize members, I’m sure you are familiar with Wiggy’s World and you might have clicked on his banner as well. This caught my attention because one time it was featured in Adgitize advertising contest.

Becoming a Travel Photolog

As of the moment it’s getting clear that “humble opinion by sirrob” will not be possibly hosted and migrated here considering the wider scope that it covers and the page rank that will be lost. It is also because of the hassle in updating more blogs is just horrible in my part at this time and I don’t want to gamble in anything yet. While the possibility of having it as a photoblog is getting closer as September reaches its last week and the suspense is growing (yet still crossing fingers).

Mitigating Life's Circumstances - Confusing SIgnagesAt least for now the gloomy sky starts to become brighter as time passes by and the uncertainties are dropping one by one as another day unfolds. I was also thinking that it can be a combination of the other side of “It’s All About Seth” and a photolog. While the interest in online money making is still there but it will be placed at minimal.

On the other hand, the other difficulty that I encounter is the kind of banner that I will use in promoting this blog and how does it appear in relation to the content and theme. I am open for any suggestions that you can throw in my way and it is highly appreciated if you can leave a comment for that matter. Promoting this blog is not be a problem but retaining readership and getting those traffic coming back is one big headache although there’s a big difference, if I’m going to compare it from before when I just started writing online.

Another goal that I will try to inject in the coming days is to try to optimize it with SEO keywords to at least getting a chunk of organic traffic.

Confusing Destination

This is my entry to Techie She Lucky Blogger Weekly Giveaways Week 17. This week’s prize is $10 paypal credits from Mys of Written by Mys.

This is the my first post here in “Snapshots as they happen” and I am already not certain on which path this blog will go. I was thinking at first that I will move my personal blog “humble opinion by sirrob” to a self hosted and that was the intention when I won this domain from a giveaway I joined a few days back. But then something came up last night and I have to admit that it has to do with the present Page Rank that the blog have. Though it is still at PR1 yet it is far better than N/A.

sirrob.info - confusing destinationWhat made me decide not to migrate instead start and write a new one is the possibility that I might monetize it in the future although the decision is not final and it may change in the coming days. What holding me in pursuing it, are the circumstances that happened when I migrated my medical, health and safety blog as a self hosted in mid June this year. It used to be PR0 then there was Google Page Rank Update late June then followed by another one in the first or second week of July and mine is one of the beneficiaries. It now stands at PR2 and started getting attention in the blogosphere.

I am also weighing that if I won’t transfer my personal blog then this will be my fourth blog and I have already abandoned the third one. So I might not have the time to update all of them. On the other hand, I was thinking that I will just use this domain as a photography blog since I might be able to acquire (crossing fingers) the much dreamed 600D later this month or early next. And if not then it might turn out to be the other side of “It’s All About Seth”.
