The Gateway to Central Philippines

If you haven’t been in Cebu or have been there already and still are looking for spots or destinations to see and visit, the video below is a good guide for you to explore Cebu. I stumble on the video while I was browsing the net for information since January is fast approaching and Cebu is very well known for the Sinulog Festival. In fact, as early as October hotels and pension houses are fully booked already for the Sinulog activities.

Interior Furnishing Structural Flaw?

I have captured a lot of things in my lens during my visit in Cebu City last March though it was a gloomy afternoon when I arrived yet it is nice to be back in Cebu again. What I have seen mostly is the completion of skyscrapers and some are having their finishing touches. I would say that there are no economic crises in Cebu considering the influx of skyscrapers around the city and its neighboring cities. It’s been sprouting here and there from the last 6 years or so and there’s no stopping yet. I will be featuring some of them in my next post.

The structure above is one of the newly completed edifice that houses mostly dining and resto establishments. And at one point while we were dining at one of the restaurants there, I saw a piece of decor inside the restaurant that instantly became an eye sore to me. What you can see below is one of the interior furnishings which I think has structural flaw. Perhaps the one who plan it don’t have the concept of aesthetics (sorry for my use of word and being blatant) or probably was in hurry to make things done.

The concept and the design of the furnishing are good and even elegant at some angle but only if the electrical cord is hidden and not hanging in front of it. It just destroys its image.

Travelling in the Tropics

Since yesterday the temperature’s at night and early morning doesn’t go above 12 degrees Celsius (54 F) and tomorrow it will be 9 degrees then on Thursday it will further drop a notch lower at 8 degrees (46 F). Then the rest of the week will be just like that and it makes me want to just stay on bed or travel to the tropics. It is indeed chilly inside the house and there’s no furnace to at least make it warm.

This made me to keep tracking of the remaining days before D-Day. I actually have a scheduled travel for a vacation in Cebu, Philippines either on the first or third of March this year and I am hoping that it isn’t that hot there yet. It will also be a perfect time to try and take more snapshots for the 600D and how well it goes. This reminds me in our vacation last year (July) when I wasn’t able to take more pictures as I want to since the battery of my PowerShot S400 will just die down so quick and there’s seems to have some issues too in the memory card. But this time around I will no longer be deprived of that opportunity to practice shooting more pictures in Cebu and probably Palawan too.

We don’t have descent pictures of his celebration and most are blurry including the customized cake that angers my wife as it wasn’t the one she expected to have. Below was the cake and the tarp used in his birthday.
